December is here!! Teachers are busy completing report cards which will go home with students on Friday, December 7th. This year we are doing a Christmas craft night rather than a Christmas concert! Teachers will send home information if other special December events are planned for their class during this month.
Dress for the Weather …
Please ensure that your children are dressed appropriately with waterproof jackets and foot wear. We go outside as much as we can to benefit from exercise and fresh air! Thank you.
Popcorn Days . . .
The Popcorn Days for December are the 7th, 14th and 21st Thank you Allison, Bailey and Peter (Ms. Bonneschranz’s son) for preparing this special treat for students and staff. We very much appreciate what you do for us!
Each month our support staff completes head check in each class. Please check your child’s head periodically for nits or lice. A very effective treatment on the market is Nyda. If parents have status this product will be covered by their band. Please check with a pharmacist if you would like to purchase this product.
Parent Advisory Council Information and Update…
I would like to take this opportunity to thank the Parent Advisory Council for buying new badminton nets for our school and for sponsoring the Chocolate Lily Award Books again this year!
The next Parent Advisory Council meeting is not until Tuesday, January 15th at 6:30 p.m.in the library
I would like to say a big thank you to our supportive and generous PAC. Thanks for all that you do for our school!!
Sunnyside Child Care Centre is Having a Bake Sale!
Sunnyside is having a fundraiser bake sale on Wednesday, December 19th. They will be selling cookies and cupcakes for $1.00 each. The bake sale will open at recess – 10:30-10:45 and then again at 12:00 p.m. to 12:45 p.m. Thank you for your support!
Christmas Craft Night…
As I mentioned in the opening statement of this newsletter, we will be hosting a Christmas Craft Night this year. This will take place on Wednesday, December 19th from 6:00-7:30 p.m. Students and their families are invited to come to school to participate in a fun craft night. The PAC will be providing a special treat for students: a mandarin orange and mini candy cane. At 7:15 p.m., everyone will gather in the gymnasium to sing a few Christmas Carols and the Parent Advisory Council will be doing a draw for 10 family passes for our local recreation center.
School Spirit Days This month …
Our next school spirit days will be the last week of school! Monday will be Candy Cane ( red and white) Day, Wednesday will be Christmas Tree Day and Friday will be Pajama Day. As well, on those three days, classes will be invited to attend Christmas caroling after lunch in the gymnasium.
Lax Kxeen Facebook Group
Lax Kxeen School invites all parents to join the closed Lax Kxeen Facebook group. The purpose of this group is to let parents know what is happening at the school and to share some photos of art and activities. You may be asked what your connection is to Lax Kxeen School by one of the administrators of the group before being admitted to the group. Search- (Lax Kxeen)

January 7th – School re-opens
